Archbishop of Bendel Province of the Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Cyril Odutemu has encouraged Christian wives never to stop praying for their husbands no matter the challenges faced in their marriage.
Speaking at the holy solemnization of Miss Oghenemise Mariere, daughter of a former Lawmaker, Hon Samuel Mariere and Mr Lucky Ekierovie at St Paul Anglican Church, Evwreni in Ughelli North local government area, Bishop Odutemu said prayer is key to human existence.
Archbishop Odutemu said the blessing of a good wife to her husband was capable of turning things round for the better, no matter the plans of enemies of marriage.
Stressing that couples must labour to keep their marriage glowing, the Archbishop explained that challenges must come, but with love and tolerance, they will build the future together to the glory of God.
He charged Oghenemise and Lucky to embrace their new lives as husband and wife and shun forces of disunity and distractions.
Archbishop Odutemu prayed God to bless their home and that of their parents.
The elated father of the bride, Hon Samuel Mariere was full of gratitude to God as he saw is first child and only daughter get married to a handsome young man, even as he prayed God to grant her and the husband the wherewithal to build a happy home.
A former Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, Rt Hon Victor Ochei, a former member of the State Assembly, George Oyefia and the Acting Chairman, Delta State Civil Service Commission, Mrs Rosemary Amioku congratulated both families for the grace of God upon them with the marriage of their children.
They urged the newlywed to always pray together and allow love for each other to blossom to the glory of God and joy to both families.
At a reception held in honour of the couple at Camp Ambrose’s arena, Evwreni, dignitaries from all walks of life, were in attendance.
They include the Deputy Speaker, Delta State Assembly, Arthur Akpowhowho, some members of the State Assembly, serving and former members of the Delta State Executive Council, two former Speakers of the Delta Assembly, Emmanuel Okoro and Victor Ochei, Chairman, DESOPADEC, John Nani, captains of industry, and a host of others well-meaning Nigerians.
The Chairman of the occasion, Amb Anthony John-Ebipador, from Bayelsa State, acknowledged the goodness of God in the lives of His children and asked prayed God to take charge of the home of Mr and Mrs Lucky Ekierovie.
Besides cutting of the wedding cake and dancing by the couple, both families of the bride and groom also danced to the admiration of the guests.
The traditional marriage, attended by Governor Sheriff Oborevrwori and other personalities from far and near was earlier held on Wednesday at the country home of Hon Samuel Mariere at Evwreni.
There were lots of side attractions at both ceremonies, including musical performances and comedies.
