It was a moment of joy and celebration as the management and staff of Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency (WUEDA) gave their Director General, Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay a surprise birthday party at his office.
It was meant to mark his 60th birthday anniversary.
In a brief remark, the Director of Administration and Finance of the Agency, Mr. John Ewuba congratulate the DG on behalf of the Management and staff, wishing him well on his birthday and thanked him for being a great boss and leader.
Macaulay a former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG) who marked his birthday paying the bills of indigent patients at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Asaba, stated that he is overwhelmed by the show of love expressed to him by the staff, adding that he never expected such a huge surprise.
“In continuation of love as a family even if not in a large scale, we should present a cake to anybody having birthday in this office” he noted, even as he appreciated all the staff for the surprise birthday they organised for him.
The highpoint of the event was the cutting of cake, presentation of birthday card to the DG by the Director of Administration and Finance, as well as prayers and birthday songs.
In the same vein, the board of the Agency Chaired by Dr. Joseph Otumara also gave a surprise birthday treat to the DG during the board’s meeting on Tuesday.
Comrade Macaulay thanked the Chairman of the board for the surprise and affirmed that he dedicated his 60th birthday celebration “to the souls of his friends and all those who lost their lives to Covid-19, Oleh 11 deaths and the Nigerian youths who are presently giving their lives in the struggle to give us a better country.”
“I am trilled with many surprises today, first from my staff, now this. It has been surprises all the way. There is nothing i would have done celebrating than what people have done already,” he said.
He thanked the board members and prayed God to keep them alive in good health.
