Former Executive Director, Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Adjogbe, FNSE, has urged the people of Delta State to use the milestone of the state’s 34th anniversary to renew their dedication to building “a stronger, more inclusive Delta State, where every citizen thrives and our collective dreams are realised.”
Adjogbe, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, stated this in his goodwill message to mark the anniversary of Delta, carved out of the defunct Bendel State on August 27, 1991.
He expressed optimism that together, Deltans will continue to make the state a source of pride for generations to come, especially under the current leadership of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
The Evwreni-born politician and Oyinvwin of Urhobo Nation further called on citizens to use the occasion to reflect on their “shared achievements, honour the sacrifices of our founding fathers, and celebrate the diversity that makes Delta State unique.”
“Happy 34th Anniversary to the great people of Delta State!” he said. “Today, we celebrate the creation of our beloved state on August 27, 1991 — a day that marked the beginning of a remarkable journey of unity, resilience, and progress. One which has proven time and again the strength of our common kindred spirit.
“From the bustling energy of Asaba and Agbor to the serene landscapes of Warri, Sapele, Ughelli, and beyond, our state continues to shine as a beacon of progressive hope in the pursuit of growth and development.
“Congratulations, Delta State! Here’s to many more years of peace, prosperity, and greatness,” Adjogbe declared.
