Delta NAWOJ in a statement by its chairperson, Comrade Sonia Unobunjo, and Secretary, Comrade Tracy Ikolomi, expressed confidence that “the victory of Hajia Ibrahim-Bura at the just concluded 11th Triennial Delegates Conference will usher in a new beginning for NAWOJ and open greater opportunities to female journalists across the country.

“We wish all our newly elected National Officers a successful and progressive tenure worthy of emulation.

“NAWOJ Delta is immensely grateful and thankful to the Chairpersons and Secretaries as well as members of NAWOJ in the five other states in Zone F (the BRACED States) namely; Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, Cross River, and Edo, for their unflinching support for our amiable and dynamic leader, Comrade Stella Macaulay, to lead the zone.

“We are indebted to all South-South Leaders of NUJ and NAWOJ including our Amazon Pioneer President of NAWOJ, High-Comrade (Dr) Brenda Akpan, PS CRSG Comrade Sam Igbala, Comrade Edward Ogude-Akpati, Comrade Norbert Chiazor, Comrade Kingsley Azuh, NUJ Zone F VP, Comrade, Comrade Opaka Dokubo and his Secretary, Comrade John Angese, NUJ Chairmen/Secretaries as well as our foremost leaders, Chief Mrs Ifeyinwa Omowole, Dr Abimbola Oyetunde and the immediate past NAWOJ Zonal VP, Mrs Uduak Ikang among others too numerous to mention for working tirelessly to deliver the mandate of our team.

“We pledge our unalloyed cooperation towards achieving a greater NAWOJ and appeal to all Women Journalists across the country to be United and join hands with the new administration to succeed.”
