Cairo Ojougboh: The noisemaker who cannot untie DSP Ovie Omo-Agege shoelace

By Fejiro Oliver

When in 2018, Mr Cairo Ojougboh left the PDP following his defeat alongside the Sheriff who wanted to grab the structure of the PDP until they were kicked out by the supreme court, he sought relevance in his newfound party, the APC.

The best way to seek relevance is mostly to talk about the opposition and the government was and still is the PDP led Ifeanyi Okowa’s government.

Despite all his noise, no one took him seriously as the state government ignored him. A friend then told him that the best bet for him was to meet me who was having issues with Gov. Okowa then, to give him information that will give him a voice.

He asked for a meeting and I obliged him. That was when the state government just signed the budget for the year.

I came up with the slogan ‘blank budget’, stating how the lawmakers never saw the budget that was edited but just signed into law. I will not go into the details of how the strategic Communication of that event was coined.

Cairo went to town with the “blank budget” theory which sold like wildfire, giving Okowa and the government sleepless nights. For weeks, the Governor kept sending the CPS and other appointees to media houses in Abuja and Lagos to explain the scandal. Cairo Ojougboh was enjoying the rave as the party saw in him a strong voice, a voice that I can say with PRIDE (I won’t be modest about it) I gave him.

That was how Cairo became relevant in APC. He should deny it and I will bring out proof. He never contacted me hence he can’t say I’m violating the rules of secrecy. It was an open knowledge then on my anger with Okowa and Cairo was the biggest beneficiary.

He was finally made the spokesman of the APC caucus in Delta State for the role he played in making the state uncomfortable via the media, a post he coveted so much and got.

He ran for the APC gubernatorial primaries and borrowed N20 million to buy the form. How the primaries played out with him getting just one vote is left between him and me.

The relevance fetched him the post of NDDC Acting EDP and when he was getting frustrated again as the then Acting MD Joi Nunieh was not allowing him free hand to operate, he pleaded for information on her, where we investigated and found out that she had no NYSC like she claimed, which we blew on the media.

February 8th 2020, I remember Joi Nunieh pleading on call that I should let her finish the forensic but it was too late. I had my reasons apart from Cairo for deciding to make Joi NYSC certificate a national issue. A few days later, she was removed and that was how Cairo saw light.

Unknown to me, he was going to steal NDDC money and he did steal over N3 billion cash, accepting kickbacks in cash from contractors that he verified their projects to pay. He should go to court and deny this. His twin mansion in Guzape and the other gigantic one also in Guzape as well the ongoing one in Agbor are proofs.

Cairo who was broke, wretched and hungry has now made money to assemble his kind to hold a supposed APC meeting in Ika to talk down on Obaisi Ovie Omo-Agege, whose shoes he is not worthy to lace, which has been denounced by the State APC.

In 2019, when Ovie Omo-Agege was delivering his ward, LGA, Federal Constituency and the senatorial district to APC, Cairo lost his ward to an ordinary SA to Okowa. He lost his polling unit as well.

No one takes him seriously in politics. For a man who was a House of Representatives member in 1999 while Omo-Agege was an Executive Assistant in the same year to be bitter over a man who he’s older politically can only be witchcraft.

But that’s Cairo for you, a man without morals and shame. His story with his daughter’s small friend in the USA which is a guarded secret confirms that he needs psychiatric help and Agege cannot help him. Agege can only offer him legal help if the doctor injects him with the wrong injection which I’m sure they will do, knowing he will argue blindly with them on the best injection to give him, claiming to be a medical doctor, when he has never practised it, but only imported the equipment.

Agege may not be a saint, never will be one but a million of his iniquities both politically and morally will dwarf the best of moral of the tall thief called Cairo, a thief who stole NDDC blind and still ready to steal hence bribing his way to be made the Chairman of the new board. He sees Omo-Agege as the one stopping his name from being approved by Godswill Akpabio and Mr President.

The same Akpabio that once appointed him and made him a billionaire is who he is going about blackmailing and waiting patiently to give documents against him once his name is not on the new board. Every of his helper he has fought and still fighting.

Agege does not need a million votes from Cairo to win an election if he decides to contest. Agege knows so well that Ika Constituency will stand by their son Okowa in any election and will not engage in a rabble-rousing battle with a political earthworm. Agege knows that the toes of Victor Ochei alone are needed even in Ika to secure votes than the full body of a tall man with short sense.

His claim to relevance is to talk and now that he has no documents and authentic information to make the media houses invite him, he is frustrated and talks about like a woman. No wonder Cairo Ojougboh is now called Caro Ojugo, a name for women.
