President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba as acting Inspector-General of Police.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, who disclosed this to State House correspondents on Tuesday, said Baba immediately replaces Mohammed Abubakar Adamu.
Buhari had on February 4, 2021, extended the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector-General of Police for three months out of which the erstwhile police boss spent two months and three days.
