Breaking: Amori defeats Nani in PDP primaries for Delta Central

Frontline leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Senator Ighoyota Amori on Monday won the party’s primary for Delta Central Senatorial District.

Amori defeated his only challenger, the immediate past Executive Director, Finance & Administration of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief John Nani, to clinch the party’s ticket for the 2023 general elections.

Amori scored 142 votes, Nani polled 123 votes and one vote was voided.

Secretary to the Delta State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah led the three-man PDP team that conducted the senatorial primaries at the Sapele Township Stadium.
