The Provost of the College of Education (COE), Dr Dickson Onovwakpoma Oyovwi (JP), has asserted that birthday anniversaries are celebrated in appreciation of God’s goodness.
Oyovwi made the assertion in a media chat with our correspondent during the surprise birthday anniversary party held for him by his wife, Mrs Gift Okeoghene Oyovwi, at a prestigious hotel in the Federal University community of Ugbomro in Uvwie Local Government Area on Friday, 14th, 2025.
The Otokutu-born Provost of the College of Education (COE), a devout Christian of the Anglican faith, stressed that birthday anniversary celebrations attract the blessings of God.
He had earlier appreciated his wife, Mrs Gift Okeoghene Oyovwi, for surprising him with his birthday anniversary celebration.
Though Oyovwi admitted that he was aware that Friday, 14th November 2025, was his birthday, he quickly added that he did not know that his wife would surprise him with the huge birthday anniversary celebration.
On her part, Mrs Oyovwi, who spoke to our correspondent, explained that she decided to surprise her husband in such a wonderful way because of her immense love for him.
“Nothing will be too much for me to celebrate colourfully” she added.
Mrs Oyovwi took the opportunity to appreciate those who attended the surprise birthday party in spite of the short notice of the invitation.
