Ayo Tope grabs one million naira as overall winner of DBS Song Of The Year Season Two

Miss Ayo-Ibinayin UfuomaTope on Thursday emerged as the overall winner of the DBS Warri song of the year season two music talent hunt competition.

The eleven contestants who made it to the grand finale of the competition were Ayo-Ibinayin UfuomaTope, Edeariese Esther, Chukwuma Ebere Joyce, Moses Matthew and Elisha Eyefia.

Others were Kehinde Ilesanmi, Ojaimo Deborah, Jonathan Daje, Sammy Ugochukwu Favour Aisha and Koma Tieyin.

Chairman of Delta Broadcasting Service Warri Board of Directors, Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza represented by a member of the Board, Hon Abel Oshevire in his opening speech said the programme was packaged to discover talented singers and groom them into stardom.

He urged the contestants to take advantage of the platform offered them by DBS Warri noting that next year’s event will be bigger.

Chairman of DBS Warri Song of the Year Season Two Committee, Obes Isonguyo, who expressed profound gratitude to the sponsors of the programme said it was part of the corporate social responsibility of DBS Warri aimed at meaningfully engaging youths in the state.

Chairman of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogieh represented by Head of Media, Public Affairs of DESOPADEC, Mrs Chineye Ezonfadi said DESOPADEC decided to sponsor the programme as it is in line with the human capital development agenda of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration.

Bashorun Ogieh promised to continue to partner with DBS Warri in order to promote peace, unity and progress in the state, especially oil-producing areas.

Popular Lagos based artiste and music producer, Ebisco Sugar, encouraged youths to shun materialism and work hard in order to make it in life.

One after the other the contestants sang to the admiration of all present.

A team of judges made up of music producers, Festus Umolo of First Studio and Teejay of Jaymusic production, DBS Warri Music Director, Obes Isonguyo and Ebisco Sugar were on ground to screen the contestants as they sang.

At the end of the keenly contested competition, Ayo-Ibinayin UfuomaTope emerged the overall winner, Jonathan Daje was first runner up, while Kehinde Ilesanmi, second runner up.

The star prize of one million naira went to the overall winner, the second runner up went home with three hundred thousand naira and the third, one hundred thousand naira.

Others who made it to the grand finale went home with consolation prizes.
