Founder of the Ejovi Family Foundation, Chief Johnbull Ejovi, has said that he owes all that life has given him to God, having lost his father at the age of 12.
Ejovi stated this in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, during an event organised by his children and family to mark his 70th birthday anniversary.
Reflecting on his life’s journey, he said: “The journey of my life is far compared to where I am coming from, and whatever I have done that made my children put this together is by God’s grace.
“My father had me at an old age, and when I was 12, he died at about 97 years old. I have always told my children that I never had any real experience with him.
“I am giving the glory back to God because if not for Him, it would have been a different story. I want to appreciate my children for celebrating me while I am still with them. My friends and business associates also mean so much to me, and I want to say thank you for celebrating with me.”
The traditional ruler of Agbon Kingdom, HRM Mike Omeru, Ogurimerime I, congratulated Chief Ejovi and prayed for God’s protection and guidance upon his life.
Also speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Olorogun Andrew Oru, described Ejovi as a perfect gentleman and a man highly respected in society.
He said: “The reason we are here is to celebrate a man who has done very well. Two important days in the life of a man are the day he is born and the day he dies. The day of a man’s birth is celebrated for several years while he is alive; when he dies, any other celebration is posthumous.
For the years I have known Chief Ejovi, I find him to be a perfect gentleman, well-crafted with the fear of God. He is a man who will accept even when he knows he is right, but don’t take him for granted. He is serious-minded, a family man, a traditional man, and a man respected in society. I congratulate him on his 70th birthday.”
In his goodwill message, Chief Mike Ikuku described Ejovi as “a very nice man.”
He said: “I knew him while I was working in Westminster Dredging. He has always been a gentleman, honest, and a good businessman who loves his friends. It is my prayer that he fulfils his destiny in life even as we celebrate him today.”
A close friend of the celebrant, High Chief Emonena Victor Egukawhore Wayles, added: “The history of Ejovi will not be complete if I am not mentioned in it.”
Ejovi’s wife, Chief Mrs Ejovi, offered prayers of longevity for her husband and appreciated all who came to celebrate with him.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori; his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme; Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpovwowo; High Chief Andrew Oru; Albert Akpomudje SAN; Obi Cubana; among others.
