The people of Agbarho Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State have been in a joyous mood following the appointment of their monarch, HRH, Ajuwe, Samson Owhe Ogugu 1, the Osuivie of Agbarho Kingdom into the reconstituted Delta State Traditional Rulers Council.

Recall that the state governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, approved the reconstitution of the Council with His Royal Majesty, Major-Gen Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), Orhue 1, The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom as Chairman.

NewsNet Nigeria investigation revealed that the excitement of the Agbarho people stemmed from the controversy and tension that have continued to pervade the kingdom since Sunday morning December 2, 2018, when gunmen who were on a mission to dethrone the monarch reportedly chased him out from his palace.

It was gathered that majority of people in the kingdom heaved a big sigh of relief when they heard that the name of their monarch was in the reconstituted Delta State Traditional Rulers Council.

To them, it gives credence to the legitimacy of the continued recognition and reign of their king.

The Otota of Agbarho Traditional Council of Chiefs, Chief Ochuko Sakpaide told NewsNet Nigeria that the reconstituted Delta State Traditional Rulers Council puts to rest any controversy surrounding who is the rightful occupant of the throne of Agbarho Kingdom.

Sakpaide expressed deep thanks and appreciation to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the appointment of their Royal Father as a member of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council.

The Governor according to him has continued to demonstrate that he is a man of peace.
