The Super Eagles continued their slide down the FIFA ranking in November, dropping a further three places following poor form.

The team had also slipped three spots in October, going from 29th to 32nd.

Now, in the latest ranking released by FIFA on Friday, Gernot Rohr’s team fell to 35th.

The Super Eagles also lost 14 ranking points, now on 1474 from their previous 1488.

The Nigerian team paid for their poor results in November, when they could only play two draws with Sierra Leone.

Teams tend to drop points in the ranking table if they cannot beat teams ranked lower, and Sierra Leone are ranked much lower than Nigeria.

In the two Africa Cup of Nations fixtures against Sierra Leone in November, the first one ended 4-4 in Benin City after the Super Eagles had taken a 4-0 lead while the second one ended 0-0 in Freetown.

Sierra Leone rose in the ranking for getting points off a higher-ranked team, the Leone Stars moving up four places from 120th to 116th and gaining 14 ranking points, from 1151 to 1165.

Senegal, who qualified for the 2022 AFCON during the November games, stay top in Africa. They rose one spot in the global ranking, from 21st in the world to 20th.

Tunisia stay 26th in the world and second in Africa, and Algeria remain third in Africa despite dropping one spot to 31st in the world.
