The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Command of the Nigeria Police Force says Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of late popular gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, is now in their custody.

Confirming Nwachukwu’s arrest, spokesperson for the FCT Command, Josephine Adeh said: “He is now in our custody. The younger brother of the deceased reported the matter and we have commenced investigation”.

The Imo-born singer died at 42 last week Friday at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja.

The Nation reports that many of her colleagues, including Frank Edwards, Asu Ekiye and some others, had accused her husband of physical assaults on several occasions.

Different accounts of what the deceased went through in the hands of her husband became a subject matter on social media.

Ms Favour Made, elder sister of late Gospel singer Osinachi in a recent interview with Vanguard, blamed the deceased’s husband for her death.
