The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Minister of Petroleum Resources and ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, wanted.
In a statement issued on Monday by its spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the Commission said Sylva is wanted in connection with an alleged conspiracy and the dishonest conversion of $14,859,257.
The funds in question, according to the EFCC, were part of the investment made by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited for the establishment of a refinery project.
The Commission noted that it obtained an arrest warrant from the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on November 6, 2025.
The warrant, granted by Justice D. I. Dipeolu, authorises EFCC officers, the police, or any other law enforcement agency to arrest Sylva and bring him before the Commission to respond to the allegations.
